Year 2

Overview

Year 2 is a key stage in children’s development, where they build upon the strong foundations established in Key Stage 1 and begin to take greater ownership of their learning.

Our Year 2 classes are led by two experienced and dedicated teachers, Miss Harris and Ms Day, who are committed to creating a positive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment for every child.

Miss Harris teaches Maple Class, where pupils are encouraged to develop independence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of core subjects through engaging and well-structured lessons.

In Oak Class, Ms Day provides a nurturing and stimulating classroom where children are supported to grow in confidence, think critically, and challenge themselves across all areas of the curriculum.

Both teachers work collaboratively to ensure consistency and high expectations, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that prepares pupils for the transition into Key Stage 2. Through a combination of interactive activities, creative learning opportunities, and focused teaching, our Year 2 children are supported to achieve their full potential while continuing to develop a love of learning.
